The Association of Retired Senior Indian Police Service Officers (ARSIPSO) was formed in the year 2000. It is a body of India’s top retired IPS officers with eligibility for membership being limited to those having held the rank of an Inspector General of Police and above. On date, ARSIPSO has 77 members incorporating a wide range of experience in several fields of governance. Besides heading the Police at State and Central levels, several members have held position of Governors, Ambassadors, Heads of Public & Private Sector Organisations and are associated with leading academic institutions. Authors, academics and writers, some members are actively involved in national think tanks making a valuable contribution to the issues confronting the nation.

The broad objectives of ARSIPSO can be defined as

Form a body of experienced Police Officers to meet, discuss and analyze several issues pertaining to national and international security

bullet

Provide a platform at national level for debate and dissemination of research studies to a large audience

bullet

Advise the concerned authorities on issues relevant to policing the complexities and sensitivities related to governance through security services for stability and prosperity of India

bullet

Work as Think Tank on major issues affecting national security problems

bullet

Inter-act with important segments of national polity.

In a short span of three years, ARSIPSO has been able to initiate concrete steps towards achieving the above objectives through invited Talks and Panel Discussions. A number of eminent personalities comprising senior diplomats, bureaucrats and politicians including Governors of two States delivered talks and held discussions with the members.

This web-site is a step towards providing our membership yet another forum for exchange of views on subjects of professional interest. It will also help us in projection of the Association activities and our members’ individual academic and research contributions
